Isabelle of Monmousseau with Dan & Julie Garland of Madinger Wines
A Tradition born in the Loire Valley in 1886

Founded in 1886 in Montrichard (-41- France), Monmousseau is specialized in "Methode Traditionnelle" (sparkling wines, ex-champenoise method) from Appellations Touraine, Vouvray and Cremant de Louire, famous all over the world. All its Traditional Methods undergo, at least, a full year of fermentation on loaths (and more than 24 months for the Appellation Wines) which gives them very fine bubbles and delicate aromas. The grape used for these sparkling wines is the Chenin Blanc, also called Pineau de la Loire.

Moreover, Monmousseau commercializes a whole range of Still Wines from the Loire Valley, but, of course, remains specialized in AC Touraine red (Gamay, cabernet Cot) and white (Chenin and Sauvignon), Cheverny, whether in red (blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay) or white (blend of Sauvignon and Chardonnay) and Vouvray. It also has a very good selection of AC's from the geographical region of Touraine including: Chinon, Bourgueil, St. Nicholas de Bourgueil, and also Samur-Champigny, Sancerre and Pouilly Fume, wines which are regularly awarded in international selections.

In France, our wines are mainly sold through the traditional network of Restaurants, Wine shops, Wholesalers. In 1997, Monmousseau decided, quite successfully, to enter the Off License market and for this, created a special range of sparkling and still wines, sold under the mark "Brut de Mosny."

As far as foreign markets are concerned, Monmousseau is settled in many countries ( USA, Great Britain, Ireland, Hong-Kong, Scandinavia, Australia, Japan, Germany, China...).
